Haut-Médoc A.O.C.
Haut-Médoc is the second of the 2 appellations within the Médoc region; in spite of its name it is situated in the south of the region
aoc haut-medoc
This appellation differs from the Médoc appellation by the quality of its terroir and of its wines among which are five Crus Classés as well as 140 Crus Bourgeois, 116 Crus Artisans and other Crus.

The terroirs are the same as those of Médoc (gravelly soils) but they include a large number of hill tops beneficial to drainage and more Cabernet Sauvignon grape.

Apart from their diversity due to the terroir spread, Haut-Médoc wines are lively, brilliant, concentrated and sturdy.

As the years go by, these well-balanced wines will develop a wonderful bouquet.

Robust and tannic they will age exceptionally well.
