Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux A.O.C.
Here, in Castillon-la-Bataille, in July 1453, the Hundred Years’ War ended with the defeat of English troops led by General Talbot
aoc castillon côtes de bordeaux
The narrow plain overlooking the river boasts an excellent gravel subsoil which produces soft and warming wines.

On the hills, the clay and limestone soil, which contains iron hydroxide, produces long conservation wines, rather like « côtes » wines with powerful tannins.

On the whole they are fine wines, full of colour, well-balanced, fruity and generous, with a lingering aftertaste.

They develop an aroma of prunes and spices, slightly earthy.
